Sehgal Neo Hospital Leads Charge Against Tuberculosis with 100-Day Intensified Campaign

Sehgal Neo Hospital in Delhi has launched a groundbreaking 100 Days Intensified Campaign aimed at eliminating tuberculosis (TB) in the national capital. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), is a significant stride within the framework of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, spearheaded by the Central TB Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The campaign highlights the critical role of private healthcare institutions in achieving India’s ambitious goal of becoming TB-free by 2025. The launch event at Sehgal Neo Hospital brought together healthcare leaders and public health advocates, with an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Sunil K. Khetarpal, Director of AHPI.

Dr. Khetarpal emphasized the transformative potential of private healthcare in combating TB. "The private sector’s engagement is pivotal in achieving the national TB elimination goals. Through active case finding, enhanced diagnostic services, and community outreach, private hospitals can complement government efforts and bridge critical gaps in TB care," he said.

The campaign focuses on active case finding among hospital patients, the establishment of Systems for TB Elimination by Private Sector (STEPS) Centers, health screening camps, and nutritional support under the Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative.

Dr. Mridu Jain Sehgal, Associate Director of Sehgal Neo Hospital, stressed the importance of public-private collaboration in tackling TB. "This campaign reflects the synergy between public sector resources and private sector efficiency. By working together, we can ensure a comprehensive, patient-centric approach to TB care and elimination. AHPI’s vision for quality-focused private healthcare aligns seamlessly with our hospital’s commitment to community health," she said.

Outlining the hospital’s action plan, Dr. Jai Khullar, Consultant in Internal Medicine at Sehgal Neo Hospital, highlighted efforts to enhance TB detection, improve diagnostics, and ensure treatment adherence. "Our strategy focuses on measurable impacts on TB outcomes in our community, making every effort count," he stated.

The launch event featured an esteemed panel of speakers from organizations such as THE UNION, WHO, and the State TB Cell, who underscored the need for grassroots engagement, technological integration, and fostering patient-centric care. In a symbolic moment, attendees took the Nikshay Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to eradicating TB from India.

In closing, Dr. Narin Sehgal, Medical Director of Sehgal Neo Hospital, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. "As the first private hospital in Delhi to lead this campaign under AHPI’s patronage, we pledge to inspire other healthcare providers and set a benchmark for proactive TB care. Together, we can make India TB-free," he said.

The 100 Days Intensified Campaign marks a pivotal milestone in India’s fight against TB. With Sehgal Neo Hospital and AHPI at the forefront, this initiative underscores the power of collaboration and innovation in transforming public health outcomes and moving closer to the vision of a TB-free India.
