Armed Force Medical Services, IIT Kanpur Collaborate for Cutting-edge Medical Solutions

In a groundbreaking move aimed at advancing medical care for soldiers operating in challenging environments, the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has inked a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. The signing ceremony, graced by Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Lieutenant General Daljit Singh, and Officiating Director of IIT Kanpur, Professor S. Ganesh, solidified a partnership dedicated to tackling health challenges encountered by soldiers in rugged terrains.

Under the ambit of this landmark agreement, AFMS and IIT Kanpur are poised to synergize their expertise to spearhead research initiatives and pioneer innovative technologies tailored to meet the unique healthcare needs of military personnel. In a bid to leverage the burgeoning field of computational medicine, IIT Kanpur will lend its technical prowess to bolster the capabilities of the Armed Forces Centre for Computational Medicine, situated within the hallowed precincts of the Armed Forces Medical College. This initiative marks a significant milestone as it stands as the first-of-its-kind endeavor among medical colleges in India.
