Gurugram: End stage kidney disease patient saved after transplant

Doctors at Manipal Hospitals in  Gurugram has successfully performed its first kidney transplant, saving life of a 39-year-old man suffering from stage five  chronic kidney disease. The transplant was made possible by the selfless donation of a kidney by his 56-year-old mother who was completely normal with no comorbidities.

The transplant was performed by a team of highly experienced doctors, led by Dr. Sanjay Gogoi, HOD Renal Transplant and Urology, Dr. Amit Kumar Tiwari, Consultant Urology and Dr. Sandeep Kumar Mandal, Consultant Nephrology. The team worked diligently to ensure that the transplant was performed with the utmost care and precision.

Dr. Sanjay Gogoi, HOD Renal Transplant and Urology, said, "Performing a kidney transplant on a patient with chronic kidney disease stage 4 is a complex and challenging procedure that requires a comprehensive understanding of the patient's medical history, health status, and individual needs. The transplant was successful, and both the recipient and the donor are recovering well and will be discharged soon."
