TGH OncoLife Cancer Hospital Launches ‘OncoLife Yoddha’ Support Group for Cancer Patients

In response to the rising number of cancer cases in India, TGH OncoLife Cancer Hospital has taken a significant step to address the multifaceted challenges faced by cancer patients and their families. The hospital, in collaboration with V Care Foundation, has launched its first-ever ‘OncoLife Yoddha’ Patient Support Group. This initiative aims to provide a supportive platform for patients, survivors, and caregivers to share their experiences, draw strength from one another, and fight the disease with resilience.

A Platform for Connection and Strength

The inaugural meeting of the support group saw an inspiring turnout of over 35 patients, survivors, and their families. The event featured a heartwarming session led by Mr. Ashok Bhakare and his team from the Laughter Yoga Club, who uplifted spirits through engaging activities. Dr. Neha Kulkarni, Director of CSR, delivered an empowering talk on embracing life’s challenges, while Ms. Vandana Gupta, Founder of V Care Foundation and a breast cancer survivor, shared her personal journey of resilience and hope. Also present at the launch were Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director of OncoLife Hospital, and Dr. Santosh Sahu, Centre Head.

A Holistic Approach to Cancer Care

As India faces a troubling surge in cancer cases, the ‘OncoLife Yoddha’ support group represents a vital extension of care that goes beyond medical treatment. Recognizing that a cancer diagnosis impacts not just the patient but also their families, this initiative aims to create a safe and nurturing space where individuals can seek practical advice, emotional support, and inspiration.

Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director of OncoLife Hospital, emphasized the importance of holistic care, stating, “The ‘OncoLife Yoddha’ Patient Support Group is a reflection of our commitment to comprehensive cancer care. Recovery is not just about physical treatment but also about building a community where patients and survivors feel seen, heard, and supported. This initiative celebrates courage, fosters relationships, and proves that together, we can overcome cancer.”

Creating a Nurturing Environment

Dr. Santosh Sahu, Centre Head, highlighted the broader impact of cancer on patients and their families. “A cancer diagnosis changes every aspect of life. Through this support group, we aim to provide the right support at the right time, empowering patients to face their challenges with determination. This initiative aligns perfectly with our vision of patient-centered care and will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer,” he said.

Hope for the Future

The launch of the ‘OncoLife Yoddha’ Patient Support Group is a beacon of hope for many. By offering a platform to share experiences and find strength in collective resilience, this initiative stands as a testament to the power of community in the fight against cancer. With this effort, TGH OncoLife Cancer Hospital reaffirms its dedication to providing holistic, patient-centric care, inspiring countless individuals to confront cancer with courage and determination.
