Thirty-three-year-old farmer Harvinder Kumar from Aligarh has triumphed over acute promyelocytic leukemia, thanks to the dedicated efforts of doctors and staff at AIIMS, New Delhi. Harvinder arrived at AIIMS in early 2019 in a critical state, unconscious and bleeding from the nose, with a hemoglobin level dangerously low at 4 gm/dl. Facing the threat of heart failure, Harvinder needed urgent medical intervention and a blood transfusion, but lacked both financial resources and a donor.

Harvinder's family had all but given up hope when they met Vivek Kumar Singh, the Medical Social Welfare Officer at AIIMS. Sensing the urgency of Harvinder’s situation, Singh mobilized resources, coordinating with the medical team and charitable trusts to secure funding for Harvinder's treatment.

Thanks to this immediate support and the exceptional care from AIIMS doctors, Harvinder's condition began to improve. He responded well to treatment and gradually went into remission. After being stabilized in the emergency room, he was transferred to the general ward and eventually discharged, returning home to Aligarh with renewed health and strength.

Harvinder expressed immense gratitude towards the AIIMS team, particularly the Haematology specialists Dr. Mahapatra, Dr. Tulika Seth, Dr. Mukul Aggarwal, and Dr. Tejasvini, along with MSSO Vivek Kumar Singh. He credited their expertise and compassion for saving his life, allowing him to resume his normal life and farming with his family by his side.
