DMA, IMA to Organise Week-Long Programs for Doctors' Welfare

The Delhi Medical Association (DMA), in collaboration with various partner organizations, will host a week-long celebration for Doctors' Day starting on June 30, 2024. The festivities will conclude with Aarogya 2024, a full-day scientific program, and a ceremony to honor distinguished doctors on July 7, 2024, at the India International Centre.

The event will include a Health Walk with the theme "My Health, My Right," inspired by the WHO slogan. This walk aims to emphasise preventive health measures for doctors, paramedics, and society at large, promoting awareness of maintaining good health and adopting preventive measures in daily life. Dr. Anil J. Nayak, Honorary Secretary General of the IMA, will flag off the Health Walk, which will see participation from various local branches of the Delhi Medical Association, specialty organizations, the Delhi Junior Doctor Network, the Delhi Medical Student Network, the Delhi Service Doctors Forum, the Indian Dental Association, and several NGOs and RWAs.

Throughout Doctors' Week, the DMA has instructed its local branches to discuss and deliberate on various issues affecting the medical profession. Topics include violence against healthcare professionals, the Clinical Establishment Act, the Consumer Protection Act, fire norms/NOC, nursing home registration issues, biomedical waste management, service doctors' concerns, rationalization and integrity of the examination system, and the exploitation of resident doctors. These discussions aim to create a conducive ecosystem for practicing healthcare and addressing the challenges faced by the medical community.

The concluding event, Aarogyam 2024, will take place on July 7, 2024. This scientific and felicitation function will be attended by esteemed guests, including the National President of the IMA, Dr. RV Ashokan, and Dr. VK Paul, Member of Niti Aayog. The event will honor the contributions of eminent doctors and highlight advancements in the field of healthcare.
